After doing a plaster cast to the PIP for stiffness or for improvement somewhere else, there's a few movements that you as the specialist can work on and a few things that you can teach your patients to do .

This was a capsulectomy of the MP as well as the IP's. We casted his PIP's then started to work on various movements in different directions. This is just an example! Definitely move slower, more fluid, and hold when doing stretches. Then pair with active motions.

No matter what you are doing, feel confident about what you do by knowing why you are doing what you are doing.

You can be anywhere along your journey in hand therapy, and know that we have a program to help you with understanding "how-to's" and your "why-to's".

Join us in the Hand Therapy Mentorship program. We meet LIVE weekly and you get answers to your questions in real time. It's the most powerful aspect of our program that is unlike all other programs. Click the link below and grab the details.
