Wound care is essential when it comes to hand injuries and your skills as a CHT. What is it about wound care that hand therapist love so much??

Well, I can tell you as someone who’s done a ton of wound care in my career….it’s so interesting because you get to see and feel an immediate change? Your patients feel so much better after they see that their injury is getting better, they might feel less pain or pinching, and it’s a step towards getting the hand to move better.

Our patient here had a multi-strand flexor tendon laceration, and his wounds came in crusty and dry….makes for doing the stitch removal a little more difficult. And his skin was already thick and calloused from the kind of work he does.
