Tips For Making Splint For Neuro Patients
Here are my top tips that I use when making a custom-fitted Orthosis for a neurological patient.
Here I am making a static progressive for a patient that suffered from a cervical fracture several years back. His wrist and hands are getting progressively worse and he wants to be more independent with his home program.
The difficulty is that his other arm is not as strong and consideration was given to his schedule and family situation. As well as prior Orthosis use.
It’s not a step by step of Orthosis but rather a glimpse as well as the tips that I use myself when working with neurological types of patients.
I hope that it allows you to see how we can all be hand therapists and how valuable being able to create a custom-fitted Orthosis can be for the patients that we serve. No matter what setting.
And this was an extra hard one!! And I got through it and you can too.
